Roe River Clean Up
Members of CCKA took to the Roe on a windy March morning to continue the ongoing battle against litter. The clean up has become an annual event in the club calendar.
The members met up at Swans Bridge for the usual photos before splitting into 2 groups. One group would clean from Swans Bridge led by John Vance and the second led by Hamish Wilkinson would clean from from O’Cahans in Limavady down to the fish counter.
Helen Marks from BBC Radio Ulsters was along to report on the next episode of ‘Your Place and Mine’. The episode should air on 14th March 2015.
Art Nevin from the Loughs Agency was also in attendance providing safety equipment and litter pickers.
There is no doubt that we are making a definite impact on this stretch of the Roe. There are mutterings already of heading back in the early summer to do the top section we missed – it was missed last year so really needs attention next time.
Thanks to all members who braved the elements to attend.
